Scenes From Oyingbo Bus Stop in Lagos.
Traders and buyers doing deals at the Oyingbo bus stop In Lagos, Nigeria. Photographer Achukata
Isiugo captures some of the scenes.
Oyingbo bus stop is
one of those spots
believed to embody
the boisterous and
chaotic spirit of
Lagos, Nigeria's
biggest city.
Originally built to be a
bus stop, as the name
indicates, it, over time,
also evolved as a
market thanks to the
indefatigable Nigerian
market women, whose
determination to
survive is only
matched by their
ability to improvise.
With their
umbrellas of
many colours
spread to give
them shade,
they create a
running splash
of colour in the
African sun.
